I as a bridal hairstylist who has been in the job for many years now, I say, avoid extra stress and choose an easy maintenance style! I of course can deal with intense stress of getting you ready on the morning of your wedding day as I have done this for over 25 years now and so I can work like a bull in the fields in a straight line without a stumble for hours on end and so I don`t mind that but for you, do you need that extra stress? I am inviting you to discard the hair as one of the reasons to stress on your day.

To avoid the hair stress, first hire a professional hair

Second, be open, flexible and please allow yourself to be guided by the professional and trust their expertise. Don’t go to a stylist for help and then end up doing their job for them. Let them be the experts they are trained to be.

Third, choose an “undone” bridal hair style. With some trial runs, you will be able to calm your nerves.

So my dear reader, out of many, here is one example of my recommended version of the “undone” bridal hair style. It’s a messy, loose and super low maintenance hairstyle throughout the day. This style is for you if you want to enjoy every moment of your wedding day and forget about your hair. It's a relaxed, loosely finished style with soft stray non set strands that softly fall and some framing the face. It’s a style that looks like it will fall out any moment but you know it won`t!

The secret of this style is to create tight foundation curls. The curls need to be tight enough to allow you to brush them out with you losing the curl otherwise it won`t look natural. It sounds scary right? Don’t worry, it will be worth your while.

So after curling the hair, I stretch the hair out. At this stage, I recommend using a natural bristle brush as this is the best way to completely break the set look. For me, the magic starts happening when I allow myself to pin the hair freely unbound by the normal hair styling rules of hairdressing. That`s my signature way of working that allows me to create natural-looking styles that don’t appear too "done" or contrived.

The final result is a beautiful, loose updo that is both secure and natural. For an even more organic look( some say give me a style that looks like I have done it myself!) Then I recommend to pin the hair a little unevenly in a subtle way, ensuring the look isn't too perfectly symmetrical and you will be good to go.

This style is also good news for fine, thin, or flyaway hair! This is a wonderfully forgiving style for those with fine/thinning hair. If extensions aren't your thing, going for a curly or textured style like this is a great alternative to a straight look. The texture gives the illusion of more body and volume without looking like you've tried too hard.

If you have naturally curly hair and hair that is prone to frizz, I recommend to embrace the curls and lightly tame the frizz…actually embrace the frizz too, that way you are allowing to work with what nature has given you and enhancing its natural beauty rather work against it. So if you allow me to use your natural hair texture, I can create a beautiful style that will save you a headache on your day.

Even if you have poker straight hair you can create this look by curling the hair initially super tight and then relaxing it afterwards.

You will feel great and confident and worry free as you walk down the aisle.

Thanks for reading my blog- This is a small space where I can be myself and allow myself to go off topic while sometimes sprouting useful hair info and other times useless chit chat regarding anything to do with hair that comes to mind. Its a space for me to breathe at work and share some of my beautiful hair creations. This is also a space for those who like what I do. Leave me a comment or a question if you need some help with your hair.

See you at the next one
